As part of Child Support Awareness Month, the Commissioners recognized our award-winning Child Support Enforcement Agency today in session. This year marks 50 years since the implementation of the national child support program in the U.S., a program that works with families to overcome barriers and provide solid financial foundations for their children. Delaware County CSEA consistently leads the state in collections and cost effectiveness, providing service for 5,485 children and collecting nearly $23 million last year.

Our Emergency Medical Services Department recently added another national accreditation to their portfolio. The recognition comes from the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE), the predominant accrediting body for EMS continuing education.
Delaware County EMS is the only government-based EMS agency in the state to receive this prestigious recognition, joining fewer than 25 ground-ambulance services in the country that have earned this distinction. With accreditation from CAPCE and the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services, Delaware County EMS joins an elite group of EMS organizations recognized for excellence in both service delivery and educational quality.

We were excited to join the Ohio Department of Transportation today as they broke ground on the first phase of a new interchange along I-71, just south of U.S. 36/State Route 37. The project’s first phase will create a connection to Wilson Road, south of Tanger Outlets. The interchange eventually will support the development of Sunbury Parkway, a proposed east-west regional route between Africa Road and Sunbury. More info at the link in our bio.
