As one of the best-kept secrets in Delaware County, Scioto Township is located on the Western edge of Delaware County between the City of Delaware and the Union County line. The scenic Scioto River bisects this pristine countryside dotted with longstanding family farms, friendly rural housing communities, historic areas and a mixture of commercial, industrial and quarrying operations. The Scioto Township Board of Trustees believes that open two-way communication is not only an important part of our local government but a must. Input and opinions from township residents are vital in serving its needs, its people and dealing with growth and the challenges facing the township. Township officials are always available and ready to meet face to face to discuss any problems, concerns, suggestions and needs or just for a friendly conversation. As a sleeping giant, Scioto Township is currently looking forward and planning for the future. We have already started this process with the construction of the new Township Community Center/Fire Station, Township Park and Nature Area, developing a comprehensive growth plan for the township and entered into a joint road development/reconstruction project with the Delaware County Engineering Department. This website has been designed to provide our residents with information about the township, it’s cemeteries, roads, volunteer committees, up-coming events, zoning issues, projects, meeting dates and times, etc and easy access to township officials. |
