Reminder on Open Burning

If you are one of many Concord Township residents who have burned yard waste in the past, or a new resident to the area wondering about the rules, the Fire Department urges you to obtain a copy of the Ohio EPA's pamphlet titled "Before You Light It". Copies are available by calling the EPA at (614) 728-3778.
The pamphlet defines open burning, what materials may be burned , where burning is legal, open burning requiring permits from the EPA (the Fire Department does not issue permits for other than recreational (cook out) type fires), and penalties for violations.
Please call the Fire Department for additional information. The Ohio Fire Code mirrors the open burning regulations of the EPA. We will help you stay out of trouble when it comes to what, how, and if you may burn.
