INTENSIVE SUPERVISION PROBATION (ISP)
PHILOSOPHY AND GOALS
The Intensive Supervision Program is a community-based intervention program designed for high-risk/need for traditional probation. The program will provide intensive intervention, surveillance and enforcement to offenders in an effort to promote long-term behavioral change that leads to enhanced public safety. ISP offenders are subject to Basic Terms of Probation as well as some or all of the Special Conditions of Probation.
Goals include:
1. Deterrence of the offender and others from criminal behavior
- Felons are not to interact with other felons
- Frequent drug testing
2. Punishment of the offender
- Positive drug test results in immediate incarceration
3. Incapacitation of the offender by removing or limiting his/her ability to engage in crime
- Electronic-monitored house arrest, with notification to the officer immediately when house arrest is violated.
- Voice-Track monitoring for verification of whereabouts
- 10:00 p.m. curfew (most crimes are committed after 10:00 p.m.)
- Reporting to officer once a week and in some cases more often
4. Rehabilitation of the offender by creating a change in attitudes and resources so that crime is not a desired or necessary activity

Behavioral counseling paid in part by a CCA Grant.

Assistance with job skills

Assistance with GED training

Offender must provide proof of employment, payment of court costs, fines, restitution and public defender fees to the officer, which are in turn verified

Offender is to remain current on child support if owed

If needed, offender must attend AA/NA and any substance abuse treatment with documentation to the officer for verification
