The Day Reporting Center is funded by a Byrne Memorial Grant through the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services and Delaware County.

The primary purpose of the Day Reporting Center (DRC) is to reduce the Delaware County Jail population by offering a reasonable alternative to incarceration for offenders sentenced to 30 days or more of local jail time. The DRC offers a variety of programming to ensure public safety and reduce recidivism.

SUPERVISION

All offenders will be placed on house arrest with or without electronic monitoring. Offenders will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing at their residence as well as in the DRC.

Offenders can have remote alcohol detection at their residence if appropriate.

Offenders sentenced to the Day Reporting Center will be required to perform 40 hours of community work.

TREATMENT

  • Central Ohio Mental Health provides assessments during the intake process
  • Recovery Prevention Resources (RPR) provides alcohol and drug treatment.
  • Cognitive behavior treatment will be presented to offenders to reduce recidivism.


    Empirical research has proven that cognitive behavioral treatment can reduce recidivism for a variety of offenses. Cognitive behavioral treatment focuses on the thought process that leads to poor decision making i.e.… criminal activity.

    • Misdemeanor issues
    • Nonsupport
    • Parenting
  • Other groups include:
    • Spirituality
    • Budgeting
    • Driving Under Suspension issues
    • STD, Health issues
    • Employment seeking and retention
