Prior to her graduation from Ohio University Magistrate Sharon F. McCollister had a career as an x-ray technician and cobalt therapist.  Ms. McCollister  graduated Summa Cum Laude, with a BSED degree with dual major’s in Special Education and Psychology from Ohio University.  She began her second career as a special education teacher working at both the elementary and high school levels.  She left teaching children to become the Director of Training in Unemployment Compensation Law for the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, now known as the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

Ms. McCollister attended and graduated from Capital University Law School with a Juris Doctorate Degree while in “retirement” raising her family.  Her initial practice of law began at the Columbus City Prosecutor’s office from which she was recruited by a private law firm as a domestic attorney.  Ms. McCollister opened her own law firm in 1994.  She has been a Juvenile Magistrate in Delaware County, Ohio since 2002.  Magistrate McCollister presides over the private custody docket.
