TOUR COMMANDER
Emergency
Communications Department
The Delaware County Human Resources
Department is accepting applications for the position of Tour Commander within
the Emergency Communications Department. The Tour Commander operates and
functions during their tour of duty organizing and supervising the work of
subordinates insuring compliance with all rules, regulations, policies, and
procedures of the Delaware County Communications Center.
Qualifications
for this position are:
- High school diploma or GED
and minimum of five (5) years of direct work experience;
- Proficient at all
essential job functions of a telecommunicator;
- Familiarity with computers
and keyboarding; and
- Must possess a valid Ohio
driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record.
The
responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Organize and supervise
telecommunicators efficiently and effectively;
- Counsel telecommunicators
and recommend commendations or discipline when necessary;
- Knowledge of policies,
procedures, rules, and regulations that govern telecommunicators and their
performance responsibilities, periodically meeting and reviewing policies,
procedures, or rule changes or updates to ensure their understanding;
- Perform quarterly and
annual performance evaluations;
- Responsible for
participating in the Quality Improvement Program by reviewing and
processing Case Evaluation Records with the telecommunicators;
- Assist the Training
Coordinator in the facilitation of the on-going training program for the
telecommunicators and newly hired probationary personnel;
- Complete monthly call
processing review reports and other reports as necessary;
- Process public records
requests for tape recordings and/or written logs as necessary;
- Maintain effective working
relationships with emergency repair services providers for 24-hour
coverage on equipment, reporting needed repairs, creating service records,
an monitoring status throughout completion;
- Respond to Emergency
Operations Center, back-up Communications Center, the Communications
Center, or alternate location during an emergency recall; and
- Availability to work
flexible hours.
Delaware
County offers a competitive wage and comprehensive benefit package. Starting pay range is $18.24 - $21.76 hourly.
