LEAD PROJECT ENGINEER

Environmental Services

 

Applications are being accepted for the position of Lead Project Engineer for the Delaware County Environmental Services.  This position is responsible for providing civil engineering and supervisory services to the Delaware County Division of Environmental Services. 

 

Qualifications for this position are:

·         Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a minimum of five (5) years related experience, prior supervisory experience is preferred;

·         Licensed as Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio;

·         Thorough knowledge of surveying, civil engineering, and wastewater operations fundamentals;

·         Thorough knowledge of engineering principles, methods and practices applicable to sanitary engineering field, waste water treatment and solid waste management;

·         Thorough knowledge of and  the ability to apply management principles and supervisory skills to work situations;

·         Ability to forecast requirements and control expenditures within budgeting guidelines;

·         Knowledge and ability to interpret a wide variety of technical journals and information and to write technical reports and procedures;

·         Ability to define and solve problems; collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions using judgment and analytical skills; and

·         Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.

 

The responsibilities of this position included, but are not limited to:

·         Provide engineering design and technical support for sanitary and solid waste facilities;

·         Manage engineering consultants and associated contracts for various improvements along with review improvement plans by consultants;

·         Interact with public to give and receive information, as well as perform a variety of other public relation duties;

·         Manage facility improvements and projects;

·         Conduct planning and feasibility studies;

·         Review current literature and attend seminars and conferences;

·         Review, project and recommend annual department budgets; and

·         Provides “on call” services in accordance with the Division’s on call policy.
