Construction Updates

10-14-10: Liberty Road Now Open:

The newly realigned section of Liberty Road north of Home Road opened to traffic today along with red and green operation of the new traffic signal at Home Road. This work was part of a $3.1 million construction project to relocate Liberty Road North and widen both Home Road and Liberty Road south to 3-lanes with wider shoulders. All critical work is complete and over a month ahead of schedule.

This project dovetails with the Home Road Grade Separation project, which includes a new bridge over the CSX Railroad. That project is scheduled for completion in summer 2011. Traffic will be maintained on Home Road until that time.

04-14-10: Home Road and Liberty Road Construction to Begin April 27

Widening of Home Road near Liberty Park will begin April 27. Home Road will be widened to 3 lanes including turn lanes at the park entrance and at the new intersection of Liberty Road. This work is part of a $3.1 million project to realign Liberty Road north of Home Road.

The initial phase of work will involve widening of Home Road while maintaining traffic. One-lane operation will be required during some phases of work – please use caution when driving through the work zone.

Road Closure Information

Home Road and Liberty Road traffic will be maintained, except for a 30-day closure of South Liberty Road and brief closure of North Liberty Road.
