Centerburg Road Bridge Replacement
DEL-CR48-5.53 (Porter
Township)
Project Description:
Replacement of a narrow and structurally deficient concrete
slab bridge with a precast reinforced concrete box culvert.
Roadway improvements will include reconstruction of approximately 800
feet of pavement and improved shoulder grading.
Project Location and Limits:
Centerburg Road bridge about 1/4 mile west of the Knox County Line. Project limits are
approximately 400 feet east and west of the bridge.
Road Closure Information:
Centerburg Road closed to through traffic between Lane Road and SR 3 /
US 36
in Knox County, with detour posted. Local traffic maintained to adjacent properties.
Project Schedule:
Design engineering: 2004-2005
Right-of-way acquisition: March to May 2007
Utility relocation: May to June 2007
Construction: June 18 to August 17, 2007

Construction documents prepared by the Delaware County Engineer’s
Design
Department.
Construction Information:
Project built by the Delaware County Engineer's
Highway Department. Precast concrete box culvert
manufactured and installed by United Precast, Mount Vernon, Ohio. Guardrail installed by
Paul Peterson Company, Columbus, Ohio.
Estimated Project Cost:
$160,000 (including $94,088 of estimated force-account labor, equipment
and materials)
