Shawnee Hills:


8-31-17: Worthington and Big Walnut Phase 2 begins September 5

The Phase 2 of Worthington and Big Walnut Road intersection will begin on September 5.  The south and west legs of the intersection will close while the north and east legs reopen to traffic.  Local traffic should enter/exit the work zone from the west and south ends of the project beginning Tuesday.  Overall completion is planned for mid-November.

8-9-17: City of Columbus Hosting Lyra Drive Extension Public Meeting August 22 from 5-7 pm

The City of Columbus will be hosting a public meeting to discuss the proposed Lyra Drive extension to Powell Road.  The meeting will be held at the Hilton Polaris, 8700 Lyra Drive from 5-7 pm on August 22 and will be in open house format.  Attendees are free to come and go as their schedules allow. Columbus and Delaware County representatives will be available for questions and comments. 

8-9-17: South Section Line Road to Close August 14 for 2 weeks

South Section Line will close for a culvert replacement located between Bunty Station and Bean Oller Road, and another culvert located between Hyatts and Clark Shaw Road. All work will be completed by 8/25. 

8-8-17: Lewis Center Road to Reopen Friday, August 11

The new roundabout at Lewis Center and Bale Kenyon will open the afternoon of August 11. 


Beginning Monday, August 14, Bale Kenyon Road will close to through traffic for replacement of 2 bridges, and final work on the widening of Bale Kenyon Road between Orange and Lewis Center Road. The posted detour will use Orange Road to Old State to Lewis Center Road.

7-3-17: Lewis Center and Bale Kenyon Intersection Fully Closed July 10

The final phase of work on the bridge deck replacement on Lewis Center Road and the new roundabout at Bale Kenyon Road will begin July 10.  The work will require a full closure of the Lewis Center and Bale Kenyon Intersection. Lewis Center Road will reopen on or about August 11.


Two-way traffic on Bale Kenyon will resume with access provided to/from the south.  For more information, visit the project information page.

5-18-17:  2017 Road Improvement Program

Work on Delaware County's annual Road Improvement Program has begun. The project will resurface and provide pavement maintenance treatments on over 100 miles of county and township roads this summer. A 2-week outlook, updated weekly is provided on thie project page here.

5-16-17: Worthington and Big Walnut Intersection Work Starting May 30

The Road construction is scheduled to begin May 30 on a project to upgrade the intersection of Worthington and Big Walnut Road with turn lanes and a new traffic signal. Visit the project information page for more details.
