The Delaware County Engineer, in cooperation with the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC), Franklin County Engineer, and the cities of Dublin, Gahanna and Hilliard have produced a short educational video on modern roundabouts.  The video, Roundabouts: Keep In The Loop, includes information on how to correctly drive a modern roundabout and reasons why roundabouts are safer and more efficient than traffic signals for many intersections.

11-30-09--Red Bank Road Now Open

The Red Bank Road bridge over Hoover Reservoir is now open to traffic.  Reconstruction of the 55-year old bridge is complete, including a new steel beam superstructure and a wider concrete deck.  Piers were also partially rebuilt to increase the load capacity of the bridge.

11-05-09--London Road Now Open

London Road in Delaware reopens today after reconstruction of the concrete pavement near U.S. 42.  This phase of the county-wide ARRA funded resurfacing project included over 700 cubic yards of new concrete pavement, replacing the deteriorated concrete pavement originally built in the 1960's.

10-14-09--London Road in Delaware to Close October 21 for 14 days (Correction)

London Road in the City of Delaware will close on October 21 for 14 days to rebuild the concrete pavement near the intersection of U.S. 42.  Traffic will be detoured onto Pittsburgh Drive to South Section Line Road to U.S. 42, or the reverse.

This work is part of the county-wide resurfacing project funded by the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.  Click here for more details on this project.

09-28-09--Cheshire Road in Sunbury to Close October 13 for Approximately 10 Days

Cheshire Road in the Village of Sunbury will close on October 13 for approximately 10 days while crews rebuild the road base and construct new asphalt pavement.  Through traffic must follow the posted detour, which uses Domigan Road to US 36, or the reverse.  Local traffic should use Miller Drive to Fairland Drive, or the reverse.

This work is part of the county-wide resurfacing project funded by the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the federal stimulus bill).  The $1.795 million contract for the county-wide program was awarded to the Shelly Company on September 21.  Construction will begin next week and run through early November.
