Project Description

Pavement resurfacing and reconstruction on various city streets, county and township roads. This project is funded through the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) allocation of highway funding provided by the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the federal stimulus bill). This project is being sponsored by Delaware County, and is a cooperative effort between MORPC, Ohio Department of Transportation, the cities of Delaware and Powell, Village of Sunbury, as well as Orange, Liberty and Concord Townships.

 

Construction Updates

Phase 2 complete: The second phase of the resurfacing project was completed May 29. This work included microsurfacing of 8 miles of county and township roads.

The first phase of the Delaware County ARRA funded resurfacing project was completed in October 2009, which included asphalt resurfacing of over 6 miles of township roads and city streets.

 


Road Closure Information

Closure to through traffic on the following roads:

  • London Road (Delaware) closed between U.S. 42 and the Advanced Auto driveway.
  • Cheshire Road (Sunbury) closed in the Sunbury village limits (about 1/2 mile west of Cottontail Drive) with local traffic maintained

On all other roads, one lane, two-way operation of traffic will be maintained with flaggers in the work zones. Brief closures may also be required.
