Home Road Bridge over O'Shaughnessy Reservoir, opened November 2003 WHAT'S NEW AT THE ENGINEER'S OFFICE The Delaware County Engineer, in cooperation with the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC), Franklin County Engineer, and the cities of Dublin, Gahanna and Hilliard have produced a short educational video on modern roundabouts. The video, Roundabouts: Keep In The Loop, includes information on how to correctly drive a modern roundabout and reasons why roundabouts are safer and more efficient than traffic signals for many intersections.

NEWS HEADLINES 11-28-2011: Selection of Preferred Alternative for South Old State Road Improvements: After careful consideration of numerous public comments and in collaboration with the City of Columbus, Alternative 3 has been selected as the preferred alternative.
The South Old State Road Improvements will include construction of an additional lane in each direction on Old State Road from Wynstone Drive (0.1 miles south of Polaris Parkway) to Abbey Knoll Drive (0.1 miles north of Orange Road) and additional turn lanes at Polaris Parkway and Orange Road. The project will also provide a shared use path and sidewalks for bicyclists and pedestrian. Construction is anticipated in 2016-18.
10-28-2011: South County Line Road to Close for 2 Months: Delaware-Licking County Line Road will close between Robins Road and Center Village Road / Duncan Plains Road for 2 months for replacement of a bridge. Please contact us with any questions or comments.
The Franklin and Delaware County Engineer's Offices will be hosting an informational meeting to discuss the proposed improvement of the Harlem Road and Smothers Road intersection from 4:30 to 6:30 at the Faith Christian Center, 5325 Smothers Road (adjacent to the intersection). 08-18-11: East Orange Road to Reopen Friday, August 19 East Orange Road will reopen to traffic east of Old State Road at 4:00 pm on Friday, August 19. Construction began on the final phase of the project in March to widen Orange Road, replace a bridge and build a new single lane roundabout at the intersection of Roespark Drive. Work will continue into September to complete a new shared use path extending from Old State to Bale Kenyon Road while maintaining traffic on Orange Road.
06-24-11: Public Meeting To Be Held July 20 for South Old State Road Improvements: The Delaware County Engineer’s Office will be hosting an informational meeting on Wednesday, July 20 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Orange Township Hall, 1680 East Orange Road for the South Old State Road Improvements project. Conceptual alternatives for the project will be displayed and engineers will be present to answer questions about the project. Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
