Judge Spicer received both his undergraduate and law degree from The Ohio State University. He was in private practice from 1972-1999 and then served as a Juvenile Magistrate prior to taking the Delaware County Probate/Juvenile bench in 2003.

Judge Spicer is active in Judicial Association, Judicial Conference, and Judicial College activities. He also serves on the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on Rules of Superintendence and sub-committee on Adult Guardianships.

A retired Navy Captain and longtime Rotarian, Judge Spicer is married and sometimes brings his Yellow Lab, “Buckeye” to the Court.
