Magistrate Heather R. Gall joined the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic Relations Division in September of 2017 after having practiced domestic relations law for 18 years.  She practiced domestic relations law at Friedman & Mirman, LPA for 13 years, where she was the Senior Associate, and for 5 years at Thomas Law Group where she also practiced general civil litigation, probate, estate planning, and bankruptcy.  She is also experienced in appellate work, arguing cases in several Ohio districts.  In addition to her litigation and appellate work, Magistrate Gall was as an Adjunct Legal Writing Professor at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law for three years, teaching students in the Appellate Advocacy program. 

Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, Magistrate Gall grew up in Martins Ferry, Ohio – an eastern Ohio town located on the banks of the Ohio River in Belmont County.  She relocated to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University and graduated summa cum laude in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology.  In 1999, she earned her Juris Doctorate with honors from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she also served as Executive Director of the Appellate Advocacy Council during her third year. 

 

Prior to joining the Court, Magistrate Gall was an OSBA Certified Specialist in Family Relations law and also served on the OSBA Family Relations Law Specialty Certification Board.  She was also named an Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star by Law & Politics magazine on multiple occasions as well as a Top Lawyer by Columbus CEO magazine.  She is currently a member of the Ohio Association of Magistrates, Delaware County Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
