Appliances - can be taken to the Transfer Station (888 US Route 42, Delaware) & Worly Recycling will only accept appliances that have had freon removed by a certified technician. Call Keep Delaware County Beautiful at (740) 368-1700 or (740) 548-7055 for special drop offs around the county in the early spring. Automobiles - may be accepted by local charities, including the Kidney Foundation and Goodwill. Car Batteries - Should be traded in at the retailers or taken to the Transfer Station, or Worly Recycling. Household Hazardous Waste Drop Off - is held each year in the early fall. Call the DKMM Solid Waste District at (740) 383-1551 or Keep Delaware County Beautiful at (740) 368-1700 or (740) 548-7055. Motor Oil - can be taken to TSC (740) 369-3024 or Wal-Mart in Delaware (740) 369-0225 or check with a service station near you. Tires - should be traded in when new tires are purchased. Tires may be taken to the Delaware County Solid Waste Transfer Station (740) 363-6340 or the Central Ohio Contractors, Inc. Tire Shredding Facility at 3041 Jackson Pike, Grove City (614) 382-6147. Both facilities charge fees. The DKMM Solid Waste District accepts tires at no charge at its Household Hazardous Waste drop off each fall. Yard Trimmings - Can be taken to Price Farms Organics, (740) 369-1000 at 4838 Warrensburg Rd. Spring, Summer & Fall hours are 8 to 5, Mondays through Saturdays. Winter hours are 8-4 M-F and 9-1 on Saturdays. Call for Rates. Residents of the DKMM Solid Waste District will temporarily have their rates subsidized thanks to funding from the DKMM Solid Waste District. |
