
PASSPORTS
The Delaware County Clerk of Courts is authorized by the U.S. Department of State to accept passport applications. This information will help you apply for and obtain a passport through the Clerk of Courts Office.
In order to leave or enter the United States and to enter most foreign countries, all U.S. citizens, including newborns, must have a passport issued in their own names. Both parents or legal guardians must be present at the time of submitting applications for children under 16 years of age. Minors who are over the age of 16 must appear in person with a parent or legal guardian to execute an application.
ITEMS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A FULL PASSPORT BOOK
Passport Application (Please do not sign the application.)
Certified copy of birth certificate or original naturalization certificate.
Drivers license or current photo I.D. with signature. (If between the age of 16 & 17, we will use parents I.D. If under the age of 16 both parents must be present to sign and have a valid photo I.D.)
Two passport photos.
(May be obtained at any, CVS, AAA/Auto Club for members, Meijer or Walgreens or anywhere that develops film)
NORMAL PROCESSING
Passport fee (payable in check or money order ONLY) to U.S. Dept. of State. $75.00 for a 10 year passport (age 16 and over),
$60.00 for a 5 year passport (age 15 and under)
A processing fee of $25.00 payable to the Clerk of Courts by check, money order or cash.
EXPEDITING PROCESSING
Expedite fee (payable in check or money order ONLY) to U.S. Dept. of State.
Additional $60.00 expedite fee on top of the $75.00 fee for the passport
You also may pay a $16.25 if you would like to overnight the delivery.
A processing fee of $25.00 payable to the Clerk of Courts by check, money order or cash.
ITEMS REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A PASSPORT CARD
A new optional Passport Card for limited travel is now available. U.S. citizens may begin applying in advance for this new, limited use, wallet size passport card beginning February 1, 2008. *HOWEVER CARDS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE AND WILL NOT BE MAILED TO APPLICANTS UNTIL SPRING 2008* When available it will only be valid for land and seas travel between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean region, and Bermuda’ land and sea ports-of-entry; as such, the card may not be used for air travel.
The card will have the same validity period as a passport book; 10 years for an adult and 5 years for children 15 years of age and younger. (*expedite services not available for card until spring*)

EXPEDITING PROCESSING

$60.00 in addition to the regular fee of $75.00.

Make sure you apply for your passport at least two months in advance prior to your scheduled departure. Your passport will typically arrive via U.S. mail in 6 to 8weeks after you submit your application.
An expedited passport may be obtained for emergency trips in which departure is necessary in less than seven to ten business days. The Clerk of Courts Office can assist you in applying for the expedited passport.
You must apply for your passport in person if: you are applying for a first time passport. Your most recent passport was issued more then 15 years ago. You were a minor when your last passport was issued. You have an existing passport that has been damaged or lost.
If you are renewing a prior passport that was issued to you at the age of sixteen or older, you may be eligible to apply for the renewal by mail if your most recent passport was issued within the past fifteen years and must be undamaged.

After you have completed the passport applications, bring your application to the nearest Clerk of Courts office or our Northpointe Title Office.
