Real
Property Valuation
Delaware County has more than 74,000 separate parcels
of real property. It is the duty of the Auditor's office to see
that every parcel of land and the buildings thereon are fairly and
uniformly appraised and then assessed for tax purposes. A general
reappraisal is mandated by Ohio Law every six years and an update
to those values every three years. Real property is appraised at
its estimated market value. While real property in Ohio is appraised
at its market value it is taxed at its assessed value which is thirty-five
percent (35%) of its appraised value. Click here for more detailed
information on the methods of appraisal used to determine estimated
market value. |
